Jordan's Kitchen Cooking Class: SAUCES

  • Miso tahini sauce with salad of Yellowfin tuna sashimi, shaved carrots, cucumber and radish
  • Charmoula sauce with slow cooked chicken and roasted Fingerling potatoes
  • Bechamel sauce with baked penne, quick bolognese, tomato and Parmesan
  • Caramel sauce with sea salt and baked apples

The Sauce classes have been a huge hit as they are all so versatile. I like to travel so we always visit different areas of the world for inspiration. Here are the next four sauces we are going to learn in our upcoming cooking class. First a Japanese influenced miso tahini. Miso is an amazing ingredient, it offers umami flavor and incredible texture to dishes. Next Charmoula, the most incredible Moroccan combination of herbs and spices, perfect for chicken and fish dishes. Bechamel is one of the mother sauces of French cuisine but I think of it more as Italian, it’s luxurious and amazing in baked pastas and lasagnas. And for dessert we’ll learn a salted caramel sauce. Perfect with chocolate, seasonal fruit or just eaten by the spoonful.
