Jordan's Kitchen Cooking Class: NEIGHBORHOOD ITALIAN

  • Tricolore salad of endive, arugula and Parmigiano with lemon-thyme vinaigrette
  • Ricotta and Meyer lemon ravioli with tomatoes, garlic and basil
  • Slow cooked duck legs with Umbrian lentils, olives and mustard emulsion
  • Extra virgin olive oil cake with strawberry coulis

Every year we do a Neighborhood Italian class with a completely different menu and it’s always one of the quickest to sell out. It’s one of my favorite ways to eat because it always emphasizes the ingredients and a respect for their natural flavors. This menu is fresh and delicious. Tricolore refers to the flag of Italy; red, white and green as represented by the endive, arugula and large shavings or Parmigiano. We’ll make hand made ravioli in this class, a perfect intro to making pasta from scratch with a delicious ricotta stuffing and light summer sauce. The main course will feature the succulent combination of duck, lentils and mustard. Many home cooks are intimidated by duck so we’ll show you how easy it is to work with. Olive oil cake, one of my favorites is for dessert with hints of orange and rosemary. Buon Appetito!
